Decadently colorful handmade ceramics
Huskmilk Pottery is a solo ceramics studio in Atlanta, Georgia. Every piece is lovingly made by me, Kara Klimshuk, with the intention of making small, daily moments a little better - the mug you reach for again and again, a vase of flowers on your nightstand, a bowl of fruit on your kitchen counter. You can learn more in the About section, see a selection of past work in the Gallery, and purchase products on the Shop page.
The main focus of my work is color. Whether a palette of bold and bright colors, soft pastels, warm and earthy neutrals, or classic black and white, I love using a wide variety of colors to evoke joy or a sense of peace. Designs are created using a wax resist technique with tape and decals. Since each piece is entirely formed, decorated, and finished by hand, no two pieces are identical.
While I spend a great deal of time ensuring my ceramics are beautiful to look at, they also must be functional. I use durable stoneware and porcelain clay that can withstand daily use. With proper care, ceramics can last many lifetimes, so knowing that my ceramics will be around for a long time, it’s important to me that they are worthy of a long life and taking up the space they occupy. My ceramics are carefully crafted with fine attention to detail, are microwave and dishwasher safe, and I only use food safe and lead free glazes.
